If Obama had a city it would look like Detroit.

Don't worry, Obama is monitoring the situation.

Too bad he didn't monitor Benghozi.

Larry:

Most of these numbers look pretty reasonable, except two. Health insurance is listed at $1,500 for a family of our, which obviously assumes really great coverage and no employer contribution. Child care is listed at $960. This may be true if your children are under 6 and both parents work, but once children reach school age it is much less. Since these two items account for half the proposed needed income, I am not sure how accurate it is. That said, I am sure the current poverty calculation is, in fact, too low.

Anonymous, did you look at the technical documentation? That may answer your two concerns. My take away is that the data show that both the Affordable Care Act and living wages are needed. Unfortunately, it appears that too many people think it is somehow more Christian or American or both to make charitable contributions than to support changes in public policies that promote basic justice.

Larry, I hope you don't mind that I have provided a link to calls into question the Public Policy Institute. I just think it is good to read both sides. I always try to read whatever you post. I have learned a great deal in the process.
