Poverty in the USA

[For the next several posts, I'll be sharing summary information provided by our friends and partners at Purpose Built Communities in Atlanta, Georgia.  Several of us traveled there recently to observe the amazing things they have accomplished in the East Lake community. lj]

I appreciate this summary and the graphics. I posted the one about costs of childhood povertyon my Facebook timeline PB Macdonald, under my update 1/16/2018 which states

The night before his murder, Dr Martin Luther King said:

“America is going to hell if we don’t use her vast resources to end poverty and make it possible for all of God’s children to have the basic necessities of life.”

We need leaders committed to this concept, in our communities, our schools, our churches, our businesses, and our government. Poverty affects all of us in some way...and ALL OF US must be part of keeping America a land of opportunity.
