If you do, then you should visit the blog produced by the students involved in Central Dallas Ministries' After School Academy.
These children are beyond amazing!
Never mind that they live in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Dallas, from a material standpoint. Certainly nothing "poor" about these children when it comes to who they are and what they are doing!

From photography (this photo is an example of their work!), to chess, to golf, to ballet, to homework, and more, these students are doing great work and expanding the capacity of their learning beyond belief!

Larry,
ReplyDeleteThanks for highlighting the ASA! It's such an amazing program - I'm really enjoying working there!
It was great to meet you at the March all-staff meeting. I look forward to working with you more in the future!
Thank You Larry, We work very hard with the children to let them know that the world can be a great place to live in. One of my favorite sayings is, "It not where you live but how you live."

Me and my children have been apart of the ASA since we've moved to Turner Courts in 2003. And it has made a positive change not only in my children but for me as well. All the kids are able to show their talents through whatever is offered whether it be ballet, chess, drawing, painting etc. I have a daughter in ballet and my son is in chess and I am just as excited to go to any show or tournament because it shows that my kids can be successful and do what it takes to "stand out". And I know that if it weren't for Central Dallas' ASA my children and myself would of missed out on so much. And I want to thank Larry for taking the time out to come visit and show a genuine interest in our After School Academy.
