I'd say ... a resounding "no." Stick with people who have actually made a record within the last decade.
We'd love to, but the costs and the tour agreements usually prohibit that strategy. On a side note, this is an example of all of the stuff I've learned while doing this job! And, I'm still learning and figuring things out.
I'd have to concur with Anon 9:08.Larry:Steve Martin and Vince Gill, the best performers CDM has had at ANTR recently (if you ask me) both had albums out within the last year or two.
So did LeAnne Rhimes and Clint Black, right? I think the bar's been set a little higher than Hughey Lewis.
