John Wooden was arguably the greatest basketball coach of all time.
But, beyond that, Wooden was clearly one of the greatest teachers of all time. Just listen to his players years after they played on his teams. Listening to Wooden is no waste of time.

I think he is one of those rare people who would be held with the greatest of respect no matter what. I especially liked how he handled the young men he coached in the 70s who were almost all totally opposed to the Vietnam war. He stuck by his rules, but he never questioned their right to believe what they believed. A person like him is all too rare today on in any time for that matter. I contrast him to the former coach of the University of Memphis, and the difference is blinding. Kentucky will find out just like we did.
