Shop for CDM!

This Saturday, thanks to the hard work of our AmeriCorps members and the support of the youth members of the Preston Road Church of Christ, we are going to host our first-ever "Second Saturday Sale." Proceeds will benefit Central Dallas Ministries.

This effort is our beginnings of building a "social enterprise" department at CDM. You will be hearing more about this strategy in the future.

Larry,

How did your Saturday Sale go??? And can you tell us yet about the new social enterprise department at CDM? It sounds exciting.

Karen, it was a small beginning! But our volunteers, primarily from the Central Dallas Church, made the day work well for us!

Our "social enterprise" dept will be creating profit centers as a means of sustaining our work across the organization. One way this will work is in the openning of thrift stores designed to make a profit for the organization. We also are taking car, RV, boat and motorcycle donations and that is beginning to pick up. You may have seen the daily ad boards around town. The gent who owns those is posting our ads free of charge on the days when he has not rented the well-placed boards. Thanks for asking!
