The richer we have become materially, the poorer we have become morally and spiritually. We have learned to fly in the air like birds and swim in the sea like fish, but we have not learned the simple art of living together as brothers and sisters.

The man did have a way with words! However, I wonder why he ties modern material progress to declining morality. Looking back through history, I do not think very many human societies have "learned the simple art of living together as brothers and sisters," ancient or modern, rich or poor.
I think I understand what he means, and I agree. Many people (not all, of course), but many, who have a lot of material things tend to forget the beauty around them...nature, people, people's needs, and how fortunate they are. Thanks for sharing.
